May the best team win?

Okay now, we seem to have an unnatural fanatism for all kind of sports, football, baseball, basketball, but when it comes to soccer, the world becomes crazy, people all over the globe gather every four years to follow step by step the FIFA's World Cup and it's only slighlty overcomed in fans by the Olympics, isnt it?

Since the very begginings of manhood, sports have been an important recreational activity for both men and women; it has been discovered that ancient civilizations gather around to play some kind of sports and it seems to me like nothing has changed over the years...Don't take this the wrong way, I love sports, it's just that I find fascinating how the entire world becomes crazy over sports and it makes a strong bond over nations that it's barley shadowed by the Olympic games, taking place two years around the World Cup.

Starting with the elimination rounds, every country is trying to get in the world cup, and it looks like the same teams make the final cut every four years, but it's not. Countries like Germany, Brazil, United Kingdom and Spain seem to have it all figured it out before it even starts, since those are the most winning teams in the history of the cup, but some others surprisingly like Italy, United States and the Neatherlands didn't make it this time,  and it's such a shame, because we were all expecting them in Rusia. Some other great appariences where qualified this time, like Iceland, that became the smallest nation ever to join the world tournament, conformed by not only soccer professional players but dedicated civils, willing to give it all in the field for their contry, winning hearts all over the world, except of course those playing against them.

In the meantime, fanatics from every corner of the planet arrived this month to the capital of the biggest country, with an inaugurational ceremony headed by Putin, a blasting show from Robbie Williams and a game by the host against Saudi Arabia, with personalities like former players Iker Casillas and Ronaldo at the Luzhniki Olympic Stadium presenting Zabikava, the World Cup's Mascot, hoping to make some great memories and goals that will last for ever in the records. Who will win? for sure we don't know, but we all have our very own favorite. Which one is yours? let me know in the comments, and as the famous phrase from The Hunger game's movie says, May the Odds be ever in yor favour.
